 I just met with Yosh and wow, he's done some really, really cool things.

 permissionlessly for people on Twitter and the value he's added

 to the WebTree world. He let me in on some of his 

 strategies which I'm hoping he could share here because I have

 seen the power of the internet and the stuff 

 it lets you do but this guy probably impressed

 me more than any other I've met until now.

 So Yosh, please feel free to share some of the things

 that conversation was really energizing we had 

 planned for 30 minutes but we stuck for more than

 an hour obviously arjun is too kind and 

 generous both with his time and his words but we were

 talking about this idea of permissionlessly creating value on twitter the traditional approach is to

 become a thread boy accumulate followers and eventually sell them a five dollar course but

 i'd love to share my experiences with the permissionless way

 I was once scrolling through Twitter and I 

 found this person who was building a NFT portfolio

 tracker. I thought the design sucked, so I 

 permissionlessly redesigned it and gave him the source file.

 Similarly, I found this person who was designing a dashboard and I also redesigned his app.

 Turns out this person's previous company is a Nasdaq listed company and he ended up raising

 a lot of money for this app and they gave me 

 two tokens that were worth 4 ETH or something

 and I even became an advisor to this company.

 For this, the amount of people that saw 

 and DMed me to hire me for client work, till

 then I never have to go and hunt for client work.

 Sorry for the crazy noise in the background. I 

 live on a pretty busy street, but yeah, the TLDR is

 Creating free value up front on the internet 

 will open doors that you can never even imagine

 Create abundance in the world and society will reward you

 Sure, I'd love to. The word permission means to seek or rather wait for approval. There's

 nothing inherently wrong with it, except 

 somebody has to give it to you and you have a cold

 start problem. The permission-less way I was referring to is creating value without waiting

 it away for free, not expecting anything in

 return. This works because you're demonstrating your skills without any friction, and you're

 building trust by taking risk and accountability. Another example is money. Traditional finances

 permission money, where you seek permission from governments and banks. Crypto and DeFi

 is permission-less money. Let me illustrate an example for you.

 so if you're a permissioned photographer that means that people have to ask you for your

 permission to use your pictures and even credit 

 you when they do it or maybe you have your pictures

 uploaded on Shutterstock where they need to 

 pay you for usage right i took the exact opposite

 approach where there's this website called Unsplash where it's reverse Shutterstock so anyone can use

 anybody's pictures without even crediting them right so some pictures were lying around in my

 phone and i was like hey let's just upload 

 it to this website and give it away for free

 So the result of that is that my pictures 

 have gotten 4.5 million views on the internet

 and they've been downloaded about 54,000 times.

 And I keep getting featured in BuzzFeed and all these internet magazines and even though

 But that's not even it. It gets crazier.

 I took a picture, posted it on Splash, forget about it.

 Fast forward to early lockdown. I'm bored and 

 one of the things that I enjoy is reverse Google

 searching my images to see who's using it. And it's typically blogs and internet magazines, right?

 To my surprise, I find out that, hey, somebody has 

 my image in a book cover and excitedly, I click on it.

 So that someone turned out to be Dr. Shashi Tharoor,

 And for context, for our friends in the US,

 this is the equivalent of say, Obama, Trump or Biden using my picture in their book.

 He's as well known and recognized in India.

 He's a political figure, very well spoken and well read.

 And yeah, that's the magic of the internet.
