For those interested in creating coherence between mind, heart, and body

 Hey everybody, welcome. I am interested in having a conversation about how to achieve

 coherence between mind, body and heart. If you have anything to share, questions, comments

 So what's interesting is about five years ago I 

 started surfing again and I was getting out there

 three four times a week and by the third week 

 had multiple friends and family say something's

 different your mood's better you have more 

 you look better like what's going on what are you

 doing I told them I'm surfing and at that 

 I realized that I need to be in nature three to

 four times a week doing something decently vigorous could be hiking could be surfing

 could be jogging could be gardening but I got to be out there doing something

 and I'm not sure if it's vitamin d I'm not 

 sure if it's exercise I'm not sure if it's some

 mental state because I'm actually in the 

 elements again freeing me of this tyranny of sitting in

 front of a laptop all day but I'm a much 

 better person I'm a much happier person and it stems

 directly from being in nature at least three 

 to four times a week for 45 minutes to an hour.

 When you're surfing, when you are gardening, when you're out in nature,

 do you notice that your mind is present to what you're doing?

 Or are you thinking about the work you left behind in the laptop?

 that I have sought for myself within recent years

 especially within recent years and To be honest with you my biggest struggle in

 Achieving to use your terms that coherence was me

 actually trying to achieve that coherence and what I mean by that is I

 myself was what was preventing that coherence and

 in this coherence I feel is specific for 

 individual but I feel that a universal one is

 lack of physical activity Prevents is a big prevention of that

 because when the body is wrong the mind is

 wrong, so But activities that foster coherence for myself for me is

 martial arts specifically boxing and hiking because

 It involves skill which is the mind and then obviously

 The heart that's something more Like I said more

 Meaningful for the individual but I do feel that it's more of play I guess

 For myself with martial arts and hiking 

 it's just it's just fun and when things are fun

 time ceased to exist and That's when I feel that I am at my best work

 Where I in a way disappear like when time disappears, so do I?

 I consider Bruce Lee one of the rare, complete human beings that has ever

 walked the face of the earth. He's definitely one of my heroes and I feel

 that this scene perfectly illustrates what an artist is, not just a martial

 artist, but any artist in any field and in relation to the topic of this room,

 what it means to be a coherent human being.

 You bring up a great point which is the more we 

 strive to achieve something the further from it that we get

 An intention is more than a conscious purpose. It's the congruence of that purpose.

 It requires an alignment of all aspects of oneself,

 of conscious thoughts and unconscious beliefs, of

 capabilities and commitment, of actions when working and not.
