 quite literally everything. However, being able to 

 witness beauty and complexity in nature tops the list for me.

 For me it is the sight of the sky and mountains.

 especially when it's full moon on the sky I can watch it for hours

 You know, this question, initially I was 

 going to say music, which is true, I think, but

 it really depends on what you mean by what makes you feel alive.

 I think many people interpret that, myself included, as an emotional response.

 Like what's, what makes you feel emotional in some form or another?

 It could be happy, sad, everything in between.

 emotions, both gets me hyped, you know, I was in the

 car earlier today, listening to G-Jones, somebody I love, and, you know, brings me energy, gets

 me hyped, it's fun. And there's music that just makes me cry.

 sometimes it just like strikes a chord, hits something,

 something in my subconscious. But yeah, for me, music makes me feel alive.

 For me it's physical exercise and then just also just solving problems and then

 also realizing how small I am. I think all three of these things sort of strike

 a similar chord on the inside for me and 

 I don't really know how to describe it. I

 feel like when you say feeling alive it's just feeling. It's hard to put it

 into words. Many people have tried and it's a different experience for everyone.

 It's so personal that if you try to describe it to someone they can't

 exactly feel what you're feeling but they might 

 other things that made them feel something similar.

 Thank you for sharing and for bringing up the question,

 First, I was going to create a room talking about death

 because I recently had an experience of a family member

 very close to me almost dying like on the spot.

 And I thought, what a great way to honor our life,

 the possibility that we could die at any moment,

 then to think about our life, to really become aware

 of what makes us feel alive, be present to our own life.

 because there's not just one answer to it.

 There's a lot of things that make me feel alive.

 Sometimes just the fact that I can be here,

 that I can take my time to share with you guys

 through authentic conversations, sincere conversation. So I don't know that there's one answer from one person.

 I think there might be multiple answers depending on the day.

 So this topic reminds me of one of my favorite songs off of Porter Robinson's

 new album, Trying to Feel Alive, and it's one of those songs that you actually need

 to see live. He has a really, to me, impactful kind of presentation of this

 statement and the song itself is really pointing to some of his depression and

 some of the struggles, you know, creating music and many other things in life. So

Trying to Feel Alive

 It's interesting you say that you can't describe it to someone, it's a very personal feeling,

 but for me I thought of three was exactly the same three things.

 Physical exercise gives me energy, a sense of that aha moment when something comes together

 makes my mind feel alive and then of course 

 when I feel small or connected to nature or reality

 it makes my spirit feel alive. So interestingly even though you cannot articulate it or explain

 it or justify it we converge upon the same three things.

 Well, Diana, if you put the question in this 

 perspective, I'm not trying to deny my answers

 and about the moon, but I've read somewhere

 that the only thing we can't control is the 

 emotion which comes to us inside of the situation

 as a reaction on the situation. And it lasts about seven seconds or 17 seconds.

 I don't remember the timing. Sorry. And what we can control it's after this seven seconds.

 It's our choice how how much time we suffer about that.

 So for me, it's something pure and strong feeling.

 And according to this, I have three positions when I feel alive.

 First, it's when I celebrate the life means for me, it's birthday of my family members,

 my friends. Second, it's when I see death means when I lose someone.

 When I feel death means when I jump with 

 parachute, when I'm diving, when I driving

 the car very fast. And third, when I meditate, I feel alive too.

 What about you? How would you answer to this question?

 And to a day of course, like you mentioned.

 That's a great question Diana. I think feeling alive is a 

 factor of what state of mind you are in at any given point in time.

 So there are days when I've had a really good night's sleep, had 

 a great meal. I feel really alive, I feel really in a great state.

 There are days when I look back, when I have all my close 

 relationships, be it with my mother, be it with my wife, my daughter,

 or the people who really matter to me, I am having 

 a very harmonious relationship, I feel really alive.

 And also when I'm in conversation with people who really vibe with me 

 and they are really charged up and we are working on some ideas together,

 that makes me feel alive. So those are the 

 thoughts that come to me while I answer this question.

 Just building on top of what Ryan said about music, I think that Afro beats, including

 I'm a Piano, is going to unite the world.

 Because it is a sound that resonates on such a deep, primal level across all cultures.

 It makes me feel alive. It makes me so productive.

 It makes me want to exercise. It makes me want to live life.

 Thank you for sharing, Xenia. I also feel alive when 

 moving my body, when I'm in stillness, meditation, yes.

 connection, when I am feeling the oneness with nature

 and the greater space around me, the stars, the vast multiverse.

 When I am connected to somebody else, for example, my children, looking into their eyes

 and seeing them seeing me and that moment 

 true connection, we are here, we are alive.

 And in the connection with myself, I experience that sometimes through laughter, orgasm, awe,

 silence and feeling my heartbeat. I feel truly alive then.

 I think humor slash laughter is also a big one and I 

 want to point to stand-up comedians who do this so well

 Where if you're if you've ever been to a live stand-up comedy show

 everyone's sort of melding together into one united experience and the comedian is just

 connecting everyone together through humor and Jokes, and I 

 think yeah, that's also a form of feeling alive that I don't know

 I feel like people don't always consider but it's 

 definitely a big one and it's not just stand-up comedy

 but even with when you're with the friend and someone makes 

 amazing joke and everyone's just laughing it just it's such a

 uniting force and it has been for hundreds and thousands of years

 This reminded me of what Jordan Peterson said,

 what makes something vulnerable is indistinguishable from what makes it lovable. In this case, exciting, thrilling.

 I agree. Love, loving, and being loved is 

 the highest form of bliss people of all ages

 have ever attained. We could explain it in terms of evolutionary 

 psychology and reproductive tendencies, but that's not very sexy.

 Hi, Diana. I thought you elaborated the essence 

 of being alive and the rationale of your question

 understand where you come from. And while listening to

 you, I thought of one more thing that makes me feel alive, and ironically, it's looking

 I do that sometimes, and it makes me feel

 alive. Might be weird, but that's true. 

 the other thing that makes me feel alive is

 just sharing stories with people and laughing with people. It's simple, but yet it's just

 Every time when I'm immersed in something, such as yoga, writing or drawing, I really

 forget myself and there is no thoughts in 

 my mind and my brain just stops talking and

 stops judging. It seems like these activities become the master of my being and the whole

 process is very peaceful and full of joy. 

 When I finished that state, I realized I had

 been alive, but when I realized that, I 

 think I'm not alive. I think these activities are

 really like meditation and you just enjoy the now, ima koko.

 My experience has been anything that I do 

 new for the first time makes me feel alive.

 At the risk of sounding like a dopamine 

 junkie, every time I do something for the first time

 it just makes me realize that there's more to 

 life and to seek the joy of being alive by trying

 these new experiences, whether they be small or large, it doesn't need to be something monumental,

 really makes me feel remarkable. And times ten, if I can do that activity

 or do that thing with someone who's meaningful to me so 

 we can share that memory, I think that it's irreplaceable.

 This is more on the physical domain, but competing in sports, and I by no means 

 am any professional anything player, but just recreationally or with friends, 

 either a tennis match or a ping pong match can get super intense for me, and I get 

 lot of energy out of that, and I think that in some sense makes me feel alive.

 Daniel for sure, I agree. In college, even just going to play pickup games at the

 rec center of basketball, the camaraderie and flow state and intensity sometimes

 that would go into that really makes me feel alive.
